ProSec Global
The Group / Perspectives & Knowledge Perspectives & Knowledge

Knowledge that was created in the field.

The insight gained in assessments, incidents and proof procedures is prepared by us and made available in generalized form. Security knowledge only takes effect where decisions are made and where operations happen: in executive management just as much as with the responsible specialists.

The principle

One body of knowledge, five perspectives, one overall view.

Every business unit prepares the insights of its field and makes them available in a structured way, from technical findings to regulatory context. Whoever has security knowledge also bears responsibility for enabling others to assess it.

From practice

Created in practice

The content comes from real experience, not from the textbook. What proves itself in practice is documented in generalized form, reviewed and made available.

Thematically focused

Perspective from expertise

Each unit maintains its own body of knowledge along its discipline: clearly delineated, kept up to date and located where the expertise sits.

Group perspective

What ProSec Global contributes

A dedicated knowledge base for executive management: how threat situation, regulation and business decisions influence one another.

The direct way in

The knowledge bases of the units.

The specialist knowledge sits with the business unit that maintains it: where professional responsibility for the content lies and where it is kept up to date.

Beyond the knowledge bases

What we make available to the general public.

Some insights are too important to be administered in a knowledge base. They belong out in the open immediately, regardless of who benefits from them.

Advisories

Assessments of acute security vulnerabilities

When a vulnerability affects many organizations at the same time, we publish an assessment: what is affected, what needs to be done and what can wait. Log4j, PrintNightmare, the Exchange attacks and other situations have been prepared in this way, complemented by German-language versions of international government warnings.

Tools

Open tools for the professional community

Tools that are created in our testing work and do not constitute a competitive advantage are made openly available. Most recently TaskHound, which can be used to uncover hidden attack paths in scheduled system tasks.

Reports

Reporting vulnerabilities responsibly

Product vulnerabilities found by our testing teams go to the manufacturer first and are only published once a fix is available. In this way, a critical vulnerability in a D-Link Wi-Fi camera was reported and fixed in 2025.
